About FAI

The Full Ammo Improv Troupe is Penn State’s premiere improv comedy group. We specialize in performing long form improvisational comedy.

Full Ammo performs shows every other Friday at 7pm in the Theater building. All of our shows are free and open to everyone.

Auditions are held at the beginning of every semester. Auditions are also open to everyone, regardless of major or previous experience.

Hey, Full Ammo – WTF is “Long Form Improv”?

Most people are familiar with short-form improv, the kind you might see on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Short-form improv revolves around games with specific rules – long form improv is a looser, freer style. Performers get one suggestion at the beginning of the show and use that to create a non-stop, continuous flow of improv made up of multiple situations, all deriving from that one suggestion.

Hey, Full Ammo – How did you be born, baby?

The Full Ammo Improv Troupe was formed in 2004 when Jeff Kornberg came to Penn State and found that there was not an officially recognized improv troupe on campus.
After advertising the club and recruiting members from other groups dabbling in improv on campus, FAI started holding meetings once a week.  Shortly after, that turned into two meetings a week, and that was when the the club really began to take shape. At the end of the 2004-2005 school year, the troupe performed its first ever show on April 17th, 2005 to a packed audience in the Arts Building.

What can *I* do to help?

Full Ammo has auditions at the beginning of every Fall semester – sometimes the beginning of the Spring semester also. Auditions are open to all students. You should check out this website or the Full Ammo Facebook group around the first week of each semester to find information about auditions.
